Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active, unrestricted RN license or valid compact license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with cardiac drips (no vasopressors) Must be able to manage and interpret dysrhythmias. Must read and interpret own strips. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. The nurse will work in a critical care flex pool setting. The shift is nights with a schedule of four 12-hour shifts. Patient ratios are 3-4 patients per nurse. Candidates with two years of experience are required. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend requirements are as needed. Floating to other units will occur, including MS and Tele units. Blocked scheduling is not permitted. Locals are accepted. Management approval is required for time-off requests. Guaranteed hours are 36 hours per week. The facility may call off shifts up to six times during the contract. Experience with cardiac drips without the use of vasopressors is mandatory. RNs must manage and interpret their own dysrhythmias. An IV team is available to assist with difficult IV placements. This is a short-term acute care facility with a total of 268 staffed beds. RNs can wear any scrub color. Charting will be done using a specified electronic health record system. All employees are expected to adhere to established quality and patient safety standards. Compliance requirements must be completed promptly after contract signing. Candidates must work two of the recognized holidays during the contract period. Module training will be completed during the first week of orientation. All module hours are billable. Completion of all modules will be tracked.
