Cloud Security Engineer-Azure Cloud & DevSecOps

Duration: 6+ Months Contract Location: Remote in Canada

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Security Engineer with expertise in Azure Cloud and a strong background in DevSecOps. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect our cloud infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of Azure services, DevSecOps principles, and proficiency in tools such as Ansible, Chef, Python coding, Terraform scripting, and other relevant technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Azure Cloud Security:
• Design, implement, and manage security controls within the Azure Cloud environment.
• Conduct security assessments and audits of Azure services and resources.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the secure deployment of applications and services in Azure.
• DevSecOps Implementation:
• Integrate security measures into the DevOps pipeline, ensuring security is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement security best practices in CI/CD processes.
• Automate security controls and compliance checks as part of the DevSecOps workflow.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
• Utilize Terraform scripting for the automated provisioning and management of infrastructure.
• Implement security policies as code to enforce security configurations across cloud resources.
• Work on version-controlled infrastructure to enable efficient collaboration and change management.
• Configuration Management:
• Leverage Asible or Chef for configuration management to ensure consistency and security across cloud environments.
• Implement and maintain secure configurations for servers and applications.
• Scripting and Coding:
• Proficient in Python coding for automation of security tasks and the development of security tools.
• Develop and maintain custom scripts to enhance security measures and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Security Engineer with a focus on Azure Cloud.
• In-depth knowledge of DevSecOps principles and practices.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Chef, Python coding, and Terraform scripting.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and industry standards.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., CIS, NIST, GDPR).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure certifications such as AZ-500: Microsoft Azure Security Technologies.
• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of container security and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
