Senior Personal Injury Litigation AttorneyDirect Counsel is seeking an experienced Senior Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join the litigation team of a well-established, mid-sized personal injury law firm in Los Angeles. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigator who is looking for meaningful courtroom experience, substantial autonomy, strong compensation, and a collaborative team environment.The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of personal injury litigation experience and be comfortable managing cases independently from litigation through trial or settlement. This attorney will work closely with experienced partners while having the autonomy to make day-to-day litigation decisions and move matters forward with minimal supervision.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage a caseload of personal injury litigation matters from litigation through trial and/or settlement.Develop and execute litigation strategies with limited day-to-day partner supervision.Handle court appearances, hearings, depositions, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and other standard litigation matters.Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement documents, and other litigation-related materials.Evaluate cases, damages, liability, and settlement opportunities.Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients throughout the litigation process.Work collaboratively with attorneys, legal assistants, discovery staff, calendaring personnel, and other members of the firm's litigation support team.Effectively manage deadlines, court requirements, and competing priorities across an active caseload.Maintain strong communication with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and internal team members.Exercise sound independent judgment while keeping partners informed of significant case developments.Qualifications7+ years of personal injury litigation experience.Strong experience handling matters through the litigation and trial process.Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases with minimal supervision.Experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, court appearances, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.Active California Bar license in good standing.Strong legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Ability to manage a substantial caseload and effectively prioritize competing deadlines.Strong technology and typing proficiency.Collaborative, professional, and team-oriented approach.High level of integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to providing excellent client service.What the Firm OffersCompetitive base salary of approximately $200,000–$300,000, depending on experience and qualifications.Additional case-based bonus opportunities tied to successful settlements and trial outcomes.Potential for additional flexibility after establishing a strong working relationship with the firm.Flexible Paid Time Off (FPTO) for salaried attorneys.100% employer-paid medical coverage for employees.100% employer-paid PPO dental and vision coverage.Employer-paid long-term disability and life insurance.Optional voluntary life insurance buy-up.Pet insurance available.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Multiple firm holidays in addition to flexible PTO.A robust litigation support team, including discovery staff, legal assistants, calendaring support, and case-management personnel.Opportunity to handle sophisticated personal injury litigation with significant autonomy and courtroom responsibility within a collaborative, supportive environment.
