Diesel Mechanic – Macon, GA
$19.00+/hr
Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a skilled Diesel Mechanic in Macon, GA. In this hands-on, full-time role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel-powered machinery and heavy equipment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanic looking for a consistent Monday–Friday schedule — and you do not need to provide your own tools!
In a Diesel Mechanic Job, You'll Be Responsible For:
- Repairing and replacing damaged or worn-out parts.
- Operating and inspecting machines and heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
- Testing mechanical products and equipment after repairs or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and performing routine maintenance on equipment.
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues and completing necessary repairs to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
What You'll Need:
- 2–4 years of diesel mechanic or related mechanical experience.
- Experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment or machinery.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical defects and troubleshoot equipment.
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment.
- Your own tools are NOT required!
Perks:
- $19.00+/hr, based on experience.
- Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM until finish, typically 3:00–4:00 PM.
