Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a Pediatrician to join our Southampton location and supporting our Shirley and Patchogue locations.

The Pediatrician diagnosis and treats patients in his/her specialty area; collaborates and supervises nurse practitioners and physician's assistants; participates in planning and developing health care services in his/her specialties, treats conditions and illnesses within the scope of the physician's specialty, referral and follow-up of patients when indicated, participates in after-hours coverage to insure 24-hour availability of care for Center patients. Performs job duties in compliance with systems and job specific standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Takes histories, performs physical examinations, and prescribes treatment and medication for conditions falling in the scope of his /her specialty following evidence-based standard of care.
• Provides off hours and hospital coverage for Health Center patients where contractually obligated to do so.
• Designs and participates in quality improvement activities, including Medical Record Peer Review, performance and procedure audits, outcome audits, and focused reviews.
• Provides supervision for clinical activities of medical providers and medical documentation in his/her department, including but not limited to review of protocols, telephone triage, follow-up procedures.
• Coordinates tests, referrals, and care of SRH patients outside the Health Center.
• Sets standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening within his/her specialty; participates in the development of programs to carry out these standards.
• Maintains legible and appropriate documentation of medical records.
• Participates and attends provider meetings.
• Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.

Schedule:

• Southampton- 3 days a week
• Patchogue- 1 day a week
• Shirley- 1 day a week

Minimum Education Requirement:

• Doctorate Degree M.D. or D.O.
• Valid License to practice medicine in New York State
• Board Certified

Minimum Related Work Experience: 2-4 years Minimum Licensure: Physician License in New York State, Board Certified and CPR/BLS

Required Skills & Knowledge:

- Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that nurse practitioners are trained to do and are necessary for practicing in health care centers. - Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education) - Ability to collaborate with other members of the Health Center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction. - Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) is preferred

Job Type: Part time

Salary Range: $112,890.96 - $127,534.68 annualized (part-time / 21 hours per week)

$215,030.40 - $242,923.20 annualized (full time / 40 hours per week)
