Working Shop Supervisor (Tooling and Specialty Machining)

Pay: $35 to $40 an hour. Shift: First shift, 45 to 50 hours a week. Type: Direct Hire.
A Dayton tooling and specialty machining shop is hiring a hands-on shop supervisor. The work is one-off tooling and precision parts in hard-to-machine materials, prototype through production.
This is a working supervisor role: you run work yourself and help machinists through tough jobs.
Responsibilities
- Supervising floor staff across CNC and manual machining
- Helping machinists through tough projects and demonstrating technique
- Scheduling work through the shop and keeping it on schedule
Requirements
- Around 10 years in machining and/or supervision
- Hands-on at the machine (not an office-only supervisor)
- Tooling or specialty machining background, not high-volume production
