REGISTERED NURSE I/RELIEF NURSE

Registered Nurse I Monthly Salary: $8,006.34 – $11,984.48 Overview The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services provides comprehensive patient care across 23 health centers and four hospitals. As a Registered Nurse I, you will deliver professional nursing care in a variety of settings, working under close supervision as part of an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities Assess patients and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with providers. Implement nursing interventions, administer medications, and monitor patient responses. Document care accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. Recognize changes in patient status and intervene promptly. Communicate patient needs and progress to the interdisciplinary team. Participate in patient care conferences, committee meetings, staff development, and education programs. Assist with discharge planning and transition of care activities. Maintain professional knowledge and competencies through continuing education. Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Support Quality Improvement initiatives and performance evaluation activities. Qualifications & Requirements Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED). Class C California Driver's License or alternate transportation capability. Physical ability to perform work classified as Physical Class III – Moderate (standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs). Demonstrated ability to work diverse shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Proficiency in maintaining clear, legible documentation and effective communication skills.
