Dining Room Hospitality Supervisor - Senior Living | Location: Cedar Falls, IA 50613

Compensation: $55,000-$60,000 annually +5% bonus potential | Full-Time

Schedule: To be discussed during interview.

 

Job Summary

As Culinary Manager , you'll lead the daily dining and culinary operations at Western Home, ensuring exceptional food quality, outstanding service, and a welcoming dining environment for residents and guests.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a culinary professional who enjoys developing teams, driving operational excellence, and creating memorable dining experiences. You'll oversee food production, menu execution, staffing, food safety, and resident satisfaction while fostering a culture centered on hospitality, teamwork, and REAL food.

 

What You'll Do

• Lead daily culinary and dining operations, ensuring quality, consistency, and service excellence.
• Oversee food preparation, production, presentation, and service standards.
• Coach, train, and develop culinary and dining team members.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, performance, and employee engagement.
• Ensure compliance with all sanitation, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership and clinical teams to accommodate dietary needs and preferences.
• Monitor food costs, inventory levels, purchasing, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and dining environment.
• Build positive relationships with residents and guests, responding to feedback and continuously improving the dining experience.
• Support special events, catered functions, and community activities.
• Promote Thomas Cuisine's commitment to fresh, scratch-made food and exceptional hospitality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

What You Will Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous leadership experience in foodservice, culinary, healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or a related environment.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, inventory, and kitchen operations.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional dining experiences.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain).
• State/County Food Handler Certification - if required.
• Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check (State and Federal) and a drug screen.

 

Physical and Sensory Requirements

This role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying throughout the shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and work safely around commercial kitchen equipment and varying temperatures.
