Urgent Care RN

Shift Differential of $5/hour paid for weekday evening hours after 7pm and all hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays.The primary purpose of this position is to safely, effectively and efficiently perform clinical assistant duties required to assist in meeting provider and patient needs. This position is staffed during normal business hours.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist providers with administering patient carePrepare patients for provider examination including obtaining vital signs on all patients and documenting accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)Perform pre-visit planning for applicable patient visitsAdminister & document medications per clinic protocolsEducate patients and families as deemed necessaryMaintain clean & organized work areas, exam rooms, and treatment roomsApply treatments and dressings as requested by providersPerform clinic procedures as directedReceive and return patient telephone calls in a timely mannerRefill medications per protocolAssist in prior authorization for medications and medical equipmentAdhere to clinic and departmental procedures and protocolsClean and sanitize clinic instruments per clinic protocolPerform additional duties as assignedSUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Remain punctual, reliable, and available for late coverage if applicableMaintain a positive and respectful attitude while supporting the clinic visionMaintain required certification and/or licensure applicable to degreeMaintain current BLS CPR certificationWork effectively under pressure in a fast pace environmentMaintain a neat and well groomed professional appearanceInteract positively with all interdisciplinary team membersMaintain confidentiality of all information acquired through clinic employmentEstablish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, providers, internal personnel, and outside facilitiesFollow clinic emergency/safety protocols and attend mandatory meetingsAbide by clinic protocols, ergonomic recommendations, and OSHA standardsAdhere to the clinic philosophy and provide comprehensive care according to a patient-centered healthcare clinicWORKING CONDITIONS:Subject to interruptions, imposed deadlines and frequent problem-solving activitiesSubject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, staff, and outside agenciesStandard office environmentPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Abide by ergonomic recommendations of the positionMust possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetic devices that will enable these senses to function adequatelyStand for several hoursSubject to lifting and carrying supplies averaging 25 poundsRepetitive motions involving use of phone and keyboardEDUCATION:Minimum: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current RN license in the state of Wisconsin and MinnesotaEXPERIENCE:Minimum: Graduation from above program with 6 week externshipKNOWLEDGE:Ability to work independently with minimal instructionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood judgment skills and ability to prioritize tasksKnowledge of medical terminology and general nursing skillsKnowledge of PC, Windows, & Microsoft Office #J-18808-Ljbffr
