Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring Epic experience and a minimum of two years of ICU nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a Level 3 Trauma Center acute care hospital with 171 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:30-7:00
• Patient ratios typically 1:2, occasionally 1:3
• Manage complex patients including CRRT, cardiac surgery/CABG, hemodynamic monitoring, respiratory failure/vent management, DKA, and altered mental status
• Perform central line, arterial line, and CVP setup and management
• Manage multiple drips and basic dysrhythmia monitoring
• Required to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Float to Med Surg (1:5 ratio) or ER depending on census
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active Oklahoma or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Recent Epic charting experience required within the past year
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience interpreting ABGs and managing continuous IV sedation
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with CABG, post cardiac surgery, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Minimum of one successful travel assignment required with no performance or attendance issues
• One reference required from a Manager or Unit Supervisor within the past year in a relevant specialty

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
• Complete all assigned training modules prior to start date
• Zero-fault attendance policy in place; any missed scheduled shift is considered unexcused
• Compliance lab visit required within 48-72 hours of signing
• Maximum of 5 RTO days allowed during the 13-week assignment with no holiday RTO
• No additional RTO requests accepted after submission or while on contract
• No blocked or special scheduling requests accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Candidates with prior employment at this facility as a traveler or permanent staff are not eligible
• Scrub color requirements vary by unit
