How you’ll contribute Provide psychotherapy and counseling therapies including group, individual, and family therapy for patients suffering from psychiatric and substance abuse issues. Ensure accurate and timely patient documentation. Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems. Display active involvement in treatment planning process. Provide family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups. Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources. Work well with interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff members. Effectively communicate to UR on treatment and LOS issues. Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate and complete manner. Demonstrate crisis intervention and de‑escalation skills; assist on crisis situations to ensure patient safety. Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills. Assist care coordination department as requested. Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards. Display knowledge of confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and all clinical regulations including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws. Display active involvement in discharge, transition, and after‑care planning treatment processes. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements Master’s degree in social work or counseling or relevant state licensure required. Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients. Current unencumbered clinical license per state of practice guidelines. CPR and CPI certified within 30 days of employment. May be required to work flexible hours.
