Youth Cheer Instructor

This is a part-time position under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator. This individual will organize, plan and facilitate Cheer practices and games for the community for the City of Holland Parks & Recreation Department. The Youth Cheer Instructor receives supervision and assignments from the Recreation Manager and the Recreation Program Coordinator; however, the Youth Cheer Instructor is encouraged to develop innovative ideas to promote and grow the recreation department.

Examples of Duties

• Plan, organize and supervise cheer practices & games for youth.
• Will be involved in public relations.
• Will be involved in Youth Cheer promotion.
• Regularly reviews and inspects facilities and equipment for any potential hazards and reports and submits repair/replacement requests to the City of Holland Recreation Department.
• Responsible for following safety rules, policies, regulations, and procedures. Completes accident reports and files them with the Recreation Division. Provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere at all times.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with other employees and the general public. Maintain a professional image, in person, through email and by telephone.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

1. Must have experience in Cheer as a participant or instructor. 2. Ability to pass a background check. 3. Physical ability to occasionally lift/push/pull/transport equipment and materials weighting up to 50 pounds.
