Job Responsibilities:

• Complete all tenant and management requested work orders as assigned and close out service tickets in management software
• Ensure effective, professional, and timely follow up with residents, vendors and property management team on all maintenance services provided
• Walk property daily and maintain physical appearance of the property
• Take the lead role in troubleshooting electrical, lighting, structural, plumbing and appliance repairs at the property
• Take lead in unit turn over process to ensure that units are turned quickly and effectively
• Responsible for keeping the shop, equipment rooms and common areas clean and organized
• Inspect all areas of the building(s) and report deficiencies as well as suggestions for improvement
• Ability to work at multiple property locations within the DC area as needed with primary location being in District Heights, MD.
• Responsible for taking calls for after hour’s emergency maintenance; including nights and weekends on a rotational basis.
• Adhere to and stay current on all applicable building codes, safety standards and fair housing laws and ensure safety standards comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines.

Experience Needed/Preferred:

• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Maintenance Engineer in the Residential Property Management industry.
• Comprehensive training and expertise in HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
• Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally required to lift/move 50+ pounds
• Ability to communicate effectively and use a computer as needed.
