Energy Procurement Manager, AWS Energy Team

Support the growth of clean energy at scale across the Western US and Canada, and Latin America with the AWS Energy Team. In this role, you will negotiate and execute power supply contracts across AWS regions and create innovative supply structures that integrate our clean energy portfolio. The candidate will identify key market conditions, regulations, and opportunities to help evaluate opportunities. The optimal candidate will have a results orientated approach, analytical skill set, and strong financial acumen. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities 3+ years working in utility/energy industry 2+ years of power transaction or contracting experience in US energy markets (WECC, PJM, MISO, SPP, SERC) Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing Experience managing multiple projects in parallel through prioritization, planning, and task delegation Proven ability to evaluate new energy markets, utility tariffs, policies, power contracts, or evaluating new energy sourcing opportunities and technologies Familiarity with renewable credit programs, renewable project development, power forecasting and scheduling, portfolio management theory, advanced energy storage, or alternative energy resources Experience building relationships and working with industry stakeholders, such as utilities, regional power planning agencies, renewable project developers, project investors, and renewable OEMs 5+ Experience in energy markets, energy trading, power contract negotiations, energy regulations, renewable development, or energy generation technologies Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
