Janitor
Reports to: Practice owner, Practice manager
West Coast Animal Hospital is a full-service animal hospital located in the middle of San Diego, open daily. We have 2 hospital locations, and the shifts would be shared between both. We have Janitor shifts available on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (Sunday thru Wednesday) from 7:30 AM – 6:15PM. As a medical facility, our staff works an alternate schedule of four 10-hour days/week versus five 8-hour days/week.
Wage Range:
$18.00-$19.50
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic a plus but not required.
Previous in a custodial/janitorial position required
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 18 years old.
- Physical Effort : Work requires lifting and carrying of up to 40bs. Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent position.
- Working conditions : May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces and urine. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.
- Dependable, arrives on time and ready to work at the start of their scheduled shift
- Can conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks.

- Clean patient exam rooms as needed
- Clean kennels and dog runs as needed
- Laundry
- Empty trash
- Clean bathrooms and restock items as needed
- Sweep and Mop floors
- Dusting
- Vacuum floors
- Sanitize high touch surfaces
- Clean break room
- Clean floor gutters
- Clean sinks
- Clean wet tables
- Special infrequent cleaning projects such as baseboards, cabinets, air vents, light fixtures
