About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified Telemetry RN in Antioch, California, 94509!

• Deliver and coordinate care for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring on a Post Surgical / hybrid Telemetry-Med Surg unit
• Read and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in cardiac status
• Administer IV cardiac medications and drips, including Amiodarone, Cardizem, heparin, and insulin drips
• Apply the nursing process - incorporating knowledge of physiology, pathophysiology, and interpersonal communication - to address physiological, psychosocial, safety, learning, and self-care needs of patients and families
• Float to other Telemetry or Med-Surg units within the facility as operational needs arise

• Valid California RN License (must be verifiable via Nursys, uploaded within the last 2 weeks)
• ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC only, with valid expiration date)
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC only, with valid expiration date)
• EKG Interpretation proficiency required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at travel rate; local candidates are accepted at a local rate
• 7-year work history verification required; candidates must provide accurate employment history going back 7 years from start date
• All compliance documents due 10 days prior to start date; lab work must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
• Two professional references obtained within the last year required
• Any background or licensure hits must be disclosed with supporting documentation for facility HR review

• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience caring for telemetry and post-surgical patient populations
• Familiarity with hybrid Telemetry/Med-Surg unit environments
• Experience with SCU (Step-Down/Combined Care Unit) workflows
