Responsibilities Execute precise installations and repairs of commercial door systems, dock levelers, and automated entry hardware. Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical failures, including springs, hinges, and access control components. Configure low-voltage systems and specialized door hardware to meet building code compliance and safety standards. Deliver high-quality service by identifying root causes of equipment malfunctions and providing cost-effective, durable repair solutions. Maintain detailed service logs and technical reports to track equipment lifecycle and maintenance history. Perform rigorous quality inspections on all completed work to ensure peak performance and long-term reliability. Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of professional experience in commercial door or industrial hardware services. Demonstrated proficiency with hand and power tools, including the ability to read tape measures and perform precise field calculations. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders up to 20 feet, and work in various physical positions. Valid driver license with a clean driving record. Preferred Skills Experience with hollow metal doors, storefront glazing, or automatic door systems. Foundational knowledge or interest in welding and metal fabrication.
