Join us as we help shape the future of Nestlé Purina and write the next chapter of our history.As a Boiler Operator (Utilities Maintenance Technician), you will perform proactive and reactive maintenance on mechanical utilities systems and equipment. You will troubleshoot, repair and optimize utilities systems that provide the critical core of our manufacturing operations. Day to day, you will work cross-functionally with other maintenance, engineering and production personnel to solve problems and implement solutions quickly and safely to keep factory assets operating efficiently. This position will initially work Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and then transition into working 4, 10-hour days during training and orientation. Once 12 weeks of training and orientation are completed, the shift will transition to nights (6 p.m.-6 a.m.), operating on a 2-2-3 schedule format (week one: two days on, two days off, three days on; week two: two days off, two days on, three days off).The starting pay for this position is $37.50/hr. with a strategic Maintenance Progression Plan that provides for increasing wages up to $41.78/hr., based on knowledge/skill demonstration, technical assessments and performance reviews. In this role, you will enjoy a retention bonus totaling $7,500, overtime pay, a quarterly bonus, $500 lifestyle spending account each year, full health benefits, 401k match, generous PTO and more!ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and optimize utilities systems and related mechanical and electrical equipment and componentsMonitor, maintain and repair compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, wastewater treatment, domestic water, hot water, refrigeration and fire systemsExecute preventative maintenance (PM) activities to proactively prevent failures and promote safe and efficient operationsUtilize diagrams and schematics, digital tools such as computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), mechanical and electrical tools, and diagnostic instruments (for vibration, thermal imaging, acoustics, etc.) to reduce unplanned stoppages through effective root cause analysis and corrective actionCollaborate with team members to maintain equipment and solve technical problemsPerform basic rigging, mechanical practices, pipefitting and welding skills in an industrial environmentModel safety and share utilities expertise to train other team membersRequirementsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent2+ years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical utilities systems and equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environmentMinimum of 1,000 hours of hands-on operating experience toward a High Pressure Boiler Operator License or Stationary Engineer License issued by the state of OhioOther: Must be willing to work 6 p.m.-6 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedulePay: $37.50 per hourBonus Eligibility: YesThe pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
