Distribution Supervisor

The Distribution Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates all activities in the warehouse / shipping department to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas. This includes planning, assigning and directing work, coordinating weekly Continuous Improvement (CI) meetings, addressing product and employee complaints, and resolving problems. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate all activities in the warehouse and shipping department to maximize productivity. Plan, assign, and direct work; coordinate weekly CI meetings; address product and employee complaints; resolve problems. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws; adhere to CI processes and the Management Operating Structure. Supervise all phases of shipping and warehouse operations including schedules, loading, and material handling. Maintain inventory and product loss control; coordinate timely and accurate shipping and receiving; ensure safety and operational guidelines are met. Establish and monitor employee work schedules to meet business needs. Recommend improvements to reduce costs and drive productivity, achieving targeted Sales to Service Goals. Analyze and resolve work problems and assist workers in problem‑solving. Maintain time and shipping records; prepare reports for management review. Keep warehouse and shipping areas clean and organized. Supervise and coordinate product rework activities. Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate activities across departments. Provide supervisory oversight of scheduling and daily activities; ensure effective selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action, and performance management. Provide effective employee training and instruction; complete training documentation. Oversee implementation and enforcement of policies related to employees. Engage in typical managerial responsibilities—planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and delegating. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred, or minimum of 2 years plant experience in a warehouse setting. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices. Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures. Ability to follow sanitation and quality policies and report deficiencies. Lift truck certification or ability to obtain a Powered Industrial Trucks certification. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer‑based applications; SAP a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs and lead others through change. Skill in organization and prioritization; attention to detail. Strong team player and leader capable of working across multiple functions and disciplines. Ability to coach, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees. Physical abilities: walk, climb, kneel, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods in a manufacturing facility. Environment: wet, cold, hot, humid, chemical exposure, and high noise—controlled at a TWA of 85dB; wear approved personal protective equipment.
