Estimator DAS

Job Summary The Estimator (DAS) supports the sales and projects staff in developing design and engineering solutions for sales opportunities, keeps estimates accurate, and maintains up-to-date information. The Estimator assists in day‑to‑day sales and project activities for the company. Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide complete project engineering, choose applicable materials, estimate labor, write scope of work and develop cost estimates in response to bid specifications. Assist the sales organization by attending site walks and pre‑bid meetings, tracking all site visits, and keeping detailed information of site conditions for accurate cost estimates. Act as liaison and meet with sales, project management, and operations when a project is turned over for installation, monitoring that the sales price and actual installation costs coincide. Follow company guidelines on preferred selection of vendors and products, working with vendors to obtain best solutions, most competitive prices and proper lead‑time on materials. Provide accurate takeoffs and cost estimates per the company’s recommended solutions book and technical support personnel. Ensure that all estimating work meets the customer and company quality and safety levels. Attend training and review sessions on technical requirements per the company’s training guidelines. Meet bid schedules and deadlines, working within a very strict timeframe. Attend and complete job turnover meetings as required to cover all details and expectations of the project as they were estimated. Other responsibilities as assigned. Salary: USD $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year. Qualifications Self‑motivated, positive approach, able to help create, develop and implement project process improvements. Promote the company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and partners. Proven problem‑solving, critical thinking, effective written and oral communication skills. Strong blueprint and project document interpretation skills, including specifications, reporting and quality requirements. Ability to travel within the branch or regional territory as needed. Ability to manage multiple projects/estimates with high organizational skills. HS Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of customer interface experience. RCDD and/or DCDC preferred; Cisco certifications preferred. Structured Cabling industry experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project). Meets company minimum driving standards. Ability to design, engineer, estimate and develop written and graphic representations of proposed solutions using company software. Knowledge of Layer 1 network architecture, MMR/Carrier experience, data center networks, switch/router architecture, IT device connectivity, network distribution design, OSP and network transport.
