X-ray Technologist

Area & Office Location Area: Southeast North Carolina Office Locations: Faison area Job Description The Certified X-Ray Technician (ARRT-R) position at Goshen Medical Center, Faison is a professional diagnostic imaging technologist. The Technician must be highly accurate in positioning and exposure techniques to optimize image quality while maintaining radiation safety standards. The role contributes to site operation, promotes the mission of the organization, and supports patient-centered care through community involvement and outreach. Responsibilities Prepares facilities and calibrates equipment according to procedural requirements. Responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures. Prepares and positions patients for procedures, assisting them at the end. Uses correct exposure factors, compression and angulation to produce high-quality images. Monitors patient’s physical condition, ensuring comfort and reporting changes or emergencies to clinical staff and site leader. Determines if the procedure was sufficient and consults with the Radiologist when additional imaging is needed. Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to physicians for diagnostic interpretation. Completes all documentation, including computerized documentation. Prepares and maintains manuals (QC/QA, Policy & Procedure, etc.) for annual analysis and inspection. Maintains stock supplies and assists administrators in determining purchase quantities. Performs general office duties such as recording procedure codes for billing, typing forms, and scheduling patients. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Initial site accreditation (e.g., American College of Radiology). Reaccreditation occurs every three years. Credentials CPR/BLS Certification Licensure and Certification(s) must be current and maintained as a condition of employment. Clinical Experience & Skills Requirements Two (2) years of clinical experience/skills. Good computer and communication skills. Work-up patients for X-ray. Obtain Radiologist reports for Goshen providers and patient electronic medical record. Print X-ray CDs for patients upon request. Comply with Quality Assurance & Control Manual and Radiation Safety Manual. Preferred Experience & Skills Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required). Electronic Medical Record experience (preferred but not required). Physical Requirements Must be able to work in a dynamic and active environment. Position may require long periods of standing or walking. Regular and recurring back bending may be required. Carrying of light packages (e.g., 10 to 25 lbs.) may be required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
