Position Summary

Novastar Kids Co. is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Spanish Substitute Teacher to provide ongoing Spanish language classroom coverage on Mondays and Thursdays, approximately 6 hours per day.
The ideal candidate is passionate about language learning, enjoys working with children, and can create a positive and engaging classroom environment. The Substitute Teacher will follow established lesson plans and curriculum while providing continuity in Spanish instruction.
Essential Responsibilities

Provide Spanish language instruction according to lesson plans and curriculum provided by the regular teacher.
Support students in developing Spanish speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Reinforce Spanish vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and cultural understanding.
Create an engaging, supportive, and age-appropriate learning environment.
Encourage students to participate actively and confidently in Spanish.
Maintain positive classroom management and student engagement.
Take attendance and maintain classroom records as required.
Support individual student learning needs and accommodations as directed by school staff.
Supervise students and follow all school safety and emergency procedures.
Communicate relevant student or classroom concerns to school administration.
Assist with transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other supervision duties as assigned.
Maintain classroom organization and prepare the classroom for the regular teacher's return.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
Follow all Novastar Kids Co. policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in education, Spanish, world languages, or a related field preferred.
Strong Spanish language proficiency or fluency preferred.
Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Dependable, punctual, professional, and flexible.
Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to the needs of students.
Ability to maintain student confidentiality.
Commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
Ability to successfully complete required background checks and meet applicable school employment requirements.
