Hiring for Shop Hands - Opportunity to train into a welding role

Pay: $22 to $26 per hours (depending on experience)

Job Description

The core mission of the Shop Hand is to support the fabrication, painting, and assembly of steel building structures in an industrial manufacturing atmosphere. This role requires flexibility and a willingness to learn a range of tasks necessary for each project scope, including material handling, fabrication work, assembly work, painting, and cleaning. The ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions is essential.

Responsibilities

• Use hand and power tools to clean and prep steel.
• Handle materials efficiently and safely.
• Read and understand work orders and project task codes.
• Mix and prepare paint coatings following proper procedures.
• Apply paints and coatings according to procedures and manufacturer’s instructions.
• Accurately record quality data on cleaning and coating reports.
• Clean and maintain the factory work areas and bathrooms.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma, general education degree, or vocational degree.
• Any experience with general trade skills, such as siding, roofing, metalworking, or assembly.
• Ability to select and operate the proper tools for tasks.
• Skillful operation of non-specialized shop equipment.
• Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16th inch.

Shift Times (Overtime Available on All Shifts)

• 1st Shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Thursday
• 2nd Shift: 4:00pm - 2:30am, Monday - Thursday
• Weekend Shift: 5:00am - 5:30pm, Friday - Sunday

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sedro-Woolley, WA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Sedro-Woolley,WA.
