Electrical Estimator/Project Manager

Job Summary Brice Equipment, LLC is hiring a regular Electrical Estimator/Project Manager. The role supports the Electrical Program by preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and comprehensive cost estimates from electrical drawings and specifications, using company estimating software to develop accurate, itemized proposals. In the Project Manager capacity the position is responsible for the planning, execution, and financial performance of multiple electrical projects across diverse client sectors, working collaboratively with project teams to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. Essential Functions Lead the planning and execution process with Superintendent, Health, Safety, and Environmental Officers, Project Engineers, and Foremen to ensure successful project completion. Establish project costs, durations, and logistical costs, and transition estimates to a workable budget. Create project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in accordance with corporate policy and contract specifications. Oversee drafting and implementation of a project‑specific safety plan. Review job loss analysis (JLA) for applicability and compliance. Ensure the quality control plan is implemented and aligns with contract documents. Monitor and control projects using onsite management staff to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Revise the working budget with client Engineers as needed and provide accurate pricing and budgeting for change orders. Maintain the project schedule, communicate progress to company management, owners, and subcontractors. Collaborate with the Cost Accounting Manager to maintain accurate financial records and safeguard company interests. Update project revenue, cost‑to‑complete, and cash flow projections monthly. Review estimates and budgets, develop resource lists and schedules, procure supplies and materials, and obtain necessary permits and land‑use agreements. Provide equipment lists, utilization forecasts, mobilization schedules, and maintenance needs to the Equipment Manager. Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, including job cost coding and quantity tracking. Represent the company at project meetings, ensuring effective communication and alignment with project goals. Assist with managing estimating job folders and maintain a constant state of alertness and safety. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Functions Supervise project staff as needed under oversight of the Electrical Program Manager. Oversee subcontractor performance, coordinate material procurement and logistics. Provide ongoing financial oversight through cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting. Coordinate continuously with the estimating team to align estimates, approved budgets, and field execution. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Understanding of project management methodologies and best practices. Comprehensive knowledge of electrical construction principles, practices, and procedures. Familiarity with architectural and building industry standard operating procedures. Knowledge of scheduling, subcontractor management, submittals, and quality control procedures. Fiscal management principles, including budgeting, cost estimation, and cost‑to‑completion projections. Ability to interpret complex construction documents, plans, and specifications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid). Strong organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills. Analytical skills for data assessment, forecasting, and decision‑making. Interpersonal and communication skills for negotiating and providing customer service. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate across departments. Adaptability to change management and evolving project needs. Ethical conduct and strong client relationship building. Work independently with minimal supervision. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Capability to travel to project sites and operate a motor vehicle safely. Experience adapting to remote location construction projects. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent work experience). Five (5) years’ experience in project supervision within the electrical construction industry. Experience with electrical estimating and project management software (e.g., Viewpoint Spectrum). Experience in construction projects in remote locations (highly preferred). Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar project management certification (preferred). Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle within company policies. Ability to pass drug, driving, and background screenings. Working Environment The role involves a fast‑paced office environment and occasional overtime for field support or bid processing. Work may be performed on indoor and outdoor job sites, requiring adaptability to schedule changes.
