Postdoctoral Fellow
Albert Einstein College of Medicine
The postdoctoral fellow will join a team of researchers seeking to identify serological correlates of survival in patients with cryptococcal meningitis who participated in a clinical trial of induction therapy. The incumbent will conduct studies of the anticryptococcal activity, including phagocytosis, cellular cytotoxicity, and direct antifungal effects of plasma samples from trial participants. The incumbent will also perform Fc receptor genotyping of plasma DNA. The incumbent will also be responsible for primary data analysis and will be a primary writer of manuscripts and is expected to publish in peer-reviewed journals. The incumbent will also participate in grant writing activities, train research technicians and other lab staff and actively participate in lab and departmental scientific meetings. Qualifications: The desired background for this individual includes experience with cell culture, imaging techniques, flow cytometry, and knowledge of cellular immunology and antibody structure, function, and Fc receptor mediated activity.
