Work Environment

This position will be conducted in a remote environment, which allows for flexibility while maintaining a focus on achieving excellent patient care. The role involves regular communication via telehealth platforms, clinical documentation software, and patient management systems. While the standard work hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, occasional evening or weekend shifts may be required depending on patient demand or special initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients with diabetes, interpreting their medical histories, lab results, and dietary preferences to craft individualized nutrition care plans.
• Provide personalized nutrition counseling that focuses on practical strategies for blood glucose management, including carb counting and meal planning.
• Monitor and track patient progress, making timely adjustments to care plans as needed and communicating changes with other healthcare team members.
• Efficiently utilize nutrition-focused physical examinations and analyze biochemical data to gain insights into patients’ nutritional statuses and requirements.
• Engage actively in multidisciplinary team meetings with physicians, nurses, and educators to devise cohesive and detailed treatment plans addressing the specific needs of diabetes patients.
• Support patients' dietary needs associated with illnesses like food allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, and weight management through tailored nutrition strategies.
• Maintain thorough documentation of patient encounters and performance metrics to comply with healthcare regulations and improve service delivery.
• Stay updated with the latest research, guidelines, and resources in nutritional science to continually enhance patient care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Registered Dietitian in our clinic, you will primarily serve a diverse population of patients dealing with diabetes, pre-diabetes, and related health conditions. This role necessitates a deep understanding of the unique challenges these individuals face, along with cultural sensitivity to accommodate varied backgrounds and lifestyles. You will guide and educate patients and their families, building trust and enthusiasm for healthier dietary habits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field from an accredited institution.
• Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Possess an active state licensure or eligibility to practice as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in Arizona.
• Deep understanding of nutrition science, dietary guidelines, and therapeutic approaches relevant to diabetes management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively educate and motivate diverse patient populations.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in outpatient nutrition counseling, particularly in diabetes management, is highly desired.
• Familiarity with digital health tools, meal planning software, and virtual communication platforms will be considered a plus.
• Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary healthcare team will be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 50,000 to 70,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer performance bonuses to motivate and reward our team.
