Summary Lifesaving impact, rewarding careers: For more than 150 years, the ASPCA has been on the frontlines to save, transform and protect the lives of millions of animals. We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join a world-class team providing high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter sterilization services at our ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance facility to support lifesaving care and make a critical impact on the vulnerable animals who need us most. Who We Are ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance (ASNA) is the premier training center for high-quality, high-volume companion animal sterilization. Altering over 21,000 shelter, rescue, and publicly owned companion animals annually, ASNA has trained more than 7,000 veterinary professionals and fourth‑year veterinary student externs at our campus in Asheville, NC since 2005. ASNA is proud to set the bar for the standard of care in HQHVSN and to provide world‑class spay and neuter surgical instruction to veterinary professionals and students. What You’ll Do The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) is the hub of ASNA’s daily medical operations and serves as the conduit between veterinarians, veterinary and kennel assistants, peer RVTs, transport partners, and clients. The RVT receives and executes directives from veterinarians, provides medical leadership, executes medical and surgical floor duties, handles controlled prescription drugs, and maintains medical records. The RVT must demonstrate excellent multi‑tasking, strong diplomacy, exceptional communication, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to high performance and best practices. Fundamental expectations are providing impeccable care to surgical patients, assisting veterinarians and trainees in pre‑, peri‑ and post‑operative duties, participating in facility upkeep, and hosting clients and visiting trainees. RVTs report directly to Manager, RVTs and have no direct reports. Where & When You’ll Work This position is an on‑site role and reports to the ASPCA Spay Neuter Alliance in Asheville, NC.
