- What are the top 3 skills needed/required? 7+ years experience with Java and Spring, 3+ years experience with Kafka
- What skills and/or experience would separate the top candidate? Cloud computing knowledge (any cloud is ok), MMS knowledge, Splunk knowledge
- What will this person's day-to-day responsibilities be? Working on development activities, testing, production issues, working with different upstream and downstream teams in Walmart
- What is the project this person will be working on? Walmart Payments
- How will they contribute to the project? In development space, helping with any and all Walmart payments
- What is the makeup of the team? Team of 20+ Java Developers
- Does the candidate need to be in a certain Walmart location/hub or remote? Reston or Sunnyvale location preferred, other locations will be considered.
- Will a Walmart badge be needed at onset or in the future?
- If hybrid or in office role, how many days a week will the candidate need to come into the office? Hybrid. 2 days/wk in office
- Please note that candidates who will be working in Bentonville, AR, Reston, VA or some Texas locations must have a VendorSAFE background check completed.
- Does this contract have the opportunity to extend or convert to an FTE? Yes
- If so, where have candidates historically fallen short? Not being strong enough in Java development
- Designs, develops, and implements web-based Java applications to support business requirements. Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing.
- Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 1 - 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
