Part Time Food Service Specialist - IDEA Kyle (26-27)

The Food Service Specialist ensures that appropriate quantities of food are prepared, portioned, and served to IDEA students. Responsibilities include cutting and chopping fruits & vegetables, following recipes, adhering to established kitchen processes, monitoring students during meal periods, encouraging consumption of fresh produce, ensuring no food sharing, and performing kitchen cleaning duties. What We Offer Hourly compensation ranging from $15.90 to $18.29. Eligible for a performance bonus based on team performance and goal attainment. Competencies Understanding of food recipes, safe food handling, and sanitation practices. Knowledge of kitchen/food production procedures. Ability to operate kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils. Basic math skills. Works well under pressure in a team setting. Physical ability to lift, bend, pull, push, twist. Qualifications High School Diploma preferred (not required). Food service or restaurant experience preferred. Food Handler’s Permit (City or County). Accountabilities Interest or passion for working with food. Basic knowledge of food production processes. Ability to cook, clean, restock, and reset kitchen for next day. Can meet physical demands including lifting, bending, walking. Basic knowledge of service to students. Ability to handle medium to large equipment (ovens, slicer, steamer). Basic math skills for portioning. Pride in food prepared and served to students. Adaptable to changing tasks such as moving from serving to washing dishes. Can take feedback well. Availability to work around academic calendar, including breaks and occasional Saturday work.
