Peri-Operative Assistant – Full Time 0.9–Afternoon Shift (11a–7:30p) Peri‑Operative Assistant (POA) duties include service support during intra‑operative periods including patient transport, operating room preparation and cleaning, equipment sterilization, and patient preparation. The POA assists operating room personnel with patient positioning and safety maintenance. In pre‑ and post‑operative periods, under the supervision of a registered nurse, the POA assists with specific patient‑care duties to meet safety and comfort needs, responds to emergent situations, provides service support for building services, patient transport, and patient preparation, and participates in continuing education. All responsibilities are reported to the Supervisor, Manager, or Director. Education & Experience High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Minimum of one (1) year experience in surgical services, sterile processing, a patient‑care environment, or related departments with a similar skill set required. Medical Assistant and/or Nursing Assistant certification preferred. Licenses & Certifications Current BLS‑A Certification required or BLS‑A certification must be obtained within one month of job start.
