Overview
Speech Language Pathologist – Acute Care, located in Canaan, Connecticut. This travel assignment starts 11/30/2026 and runs for 13 weeks in a long-term care/nursing home setting. The role offers a weekly pay range of $2,051 to $2,110 with guaranteed hours of 32 per week. Work a day shift on a 5x8 schedule (08:00–16:30).

- Setting: Long-term care / nursing home Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language assessments and screen for swallowing disorders in residents
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans addressing communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing goals
- Provide direct speech-language therapy and monitor progress; adjust plans as needed
- Document assessments and treatment notes in the medical record; communicate findings to the care team
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, medical staff, dietitians, social work) to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning
- Educate residents and families on therapy goals, home practice programs, and safety strategies; participate in care conferences
- Maintain equipment, follow infection control protocols, and ensure safety during therapy sessions Requirements
