Fund Controller

4 days per week in the office We are looking for an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join a high-performing fund accounting team in Stamford, CT. This is a hands‑on role working across complex hedge fund strategies and financial instruments , with a particular focus on equities, derivatives and Total Return Swaps (TRS) . The successful candidate will have strong technical fund accounting experience and be comfortable taking ownership of complex reconciliations, NAV/P&L support, financial reporting and the accounting treatment of sophisticated financial products. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting Support daily P&L and NAV processes and period‑end close Own complex reconciliations and investigate and resolve breaks Account for equities, derivatives and Total Return Swaps Work across the full TRS lifecycle, including financing/accruals, resets, collateral/margin, counterparty statements and P&L drivers Work directly with auditors, counterparties, prime brokers/custodians and internal teams Support the preparation of audited financial statements Ensure strong accounting controls, accurate reporting and timely resolution of issues Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes Support and mentor more junior members of the accounting team What We’re Looking For 7+ years of hedge fund / investment fund accounting experience Strong hands‑on experience with derivatives and Total Return Swaps – essential Strong knowledge of equities and complex financial products Experience supporting daily P&L/NAV and month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close Strong understanding of US GAAP ; IFRS experience is advantageous Experience with onshore/offshore fund structures and multi‑currency accounting Strong reconciliation, controls and break‑resolution experience US accounting qualification / CPA strongly preferred Advanced Excel skills Geneva and/or VPM experience would be highly advantageous Strong communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced investment environment Location This role is based in Stamford, Connecticut and requires candidates to work from the office 4 days per week .
