Neurosurgery Operating Room Nurse

In this role Neurosurgery Operating Room Nurse under general supervision renders professional specialized care and support to patients undergoing neurosurgery procedures during the intra-operative phase. In doing so possesses a comprehensive understanding of the central and peripheral nervous system a strong knowledge of complex skull-based cranial neurosurgery including combined skull based open and endoscopic skull based procedures with otolaryngology complex pediatric tumors and congenital neurological disorders on pediatric trauma patients and other specialized pediatric neurosurgery procedures including surgical treatment of adult cerebrovascular and rare spinal conditions. Performs pre-operative assessment of the patients' condition administers prescribed medications provide treatments observes patients' progress records pertinent observations and reports reaction to medication and treatments. RN ensures compliance with all infection control policies and standards. Assist physicians with examinations and prepare instruments and equipment for physicians' use.

Education:

• Essential: Associate in a Nursing Program from an Accredited School of Nursing

Experience:

• Essential: Three Years

Credentials:

• Essential: Registered Nurse-LIC
• Essential: Basic Life Support
