Production Supervisor

Job TitleThis position requires focus on the assigned production department within the Operations Function.Job DescriptionResponsible for supervision of the daily operations of the assigned Department, including but not limited to training of lead employees, record and inventory review, meeting HACCP requirements, planning and communication with other departments.Essential FunctionsCommunicate/Coordinate/Supervise department's daily work tasks to meet requirements and objectivesTrain lead persons in all job requirements, including supervisory responsibilitiesEnsure that all employees in the department are trained and understand the process to be fully qualified to perform the jobWork with department managers to plan work and allocate labor to fulfill operations needs within scheduled shift and minimizing need for overtimeConfers with Management, HR, and employees on departmental problems, and recommends changes or work practices to improve department standardsTracks KPIs and compiles required reportsDocuments steps taken to resolve deficiencies. Participates or leads continuous improvement projects, as neededCompletes daily timesheets and scheduled time off for employees in a timely and accurate mannerEnsures that employees adhere to company policies and work rules.Coach, develop, and provide continuous feedback to employees. Conducts employee performance evaluations as scheduledConducts disciplinary actions of department employees in coordination with the Human Resources Department.Represents Department at company meetings, functions and/or activitiesPerform other duties as assignedEducation and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED. Holds relevant Certificate or Industry Certification and/or completion of post secondary classesKnowledge of food processing and at least 3 years of experience in similar environmentMinimum 2-3 years experience supervising and leading a group of employees in a manufacturing environmentAdditional ResponsibilitiesLanguage Skills: Must have excellent technical oral and written communication skillsMust be able to effectively communicate with all levels of personnelMathematical Skills: Must have basic math skillsMust have the ability to create, read and analyze charts, graphs and logsReasoning Ability: Must have good analytical and logical problem solving skillsProven Problem Solving skills, able to solve complex issues with assistanceCertificates, Licenses and Registration: HACCP certification a plusPhysical DemandsMust be able to lift overhead up to 30 poundsMust be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods in refrigerated environment as well as in cooking areasAbility to work with industrial strength cleaning chemicalsWork EnvironmentMust be able to work in a refrigerated or cooking environmentMust be able to work in a meat-processing environment
