R&D Electrical Engineering Technologist

About the Role Do you enjoy designing, testing, and developing advanced electronics for cutting‑edge inspection technologies? Join Waygate Technologies as an R&D Electrical Engineering Technologist and contribute to the design, development, and testing of high‑performance video borescopes. Responsibilities Design and develop the next generation of portable, world‑class video borescopes. Perform schematic capture and layout for new PCBs and modify existing designs. Prototype, assemble, and test new board designs. Modify and troubleshoot PCBs (component replacement/removal, jumper installation, etc.). Participate in project launch activities. Conduct troubleshooting, validation, testing, experimentation, and test reporting. Create and execute experiments to test new designs, collaborating with Mechanical and Software teams to ensure on‑time program launches. Document products and technical data in accordance with engineering policies and procedures. Work with production personnel to resolve hardware issues in real time. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or technology from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED. Experience in circuit board design and layout, preferably using the Altium ECAD toolset. Hands‑on experience with circuit board testing and creation of automated test protocols. Proficiency in analyzing discrete and integrated analog circuits and digital logic design. Ability to perform limited software development in C/C++ or Python to support experiments or microcontroller implementations. Working knowledge of SolidWorks. Familiarity with wireless communication protocols and hardware. Proficiency with common laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes and network analyzers. Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, comfortable working in collaborative team environments. Location & Compensation This role requires onsite presence at the Skaneateles, NY facility.
