MongoDB Engineer

Job Description

As a Senior MongoDB Database engineer, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and operating high-throughput, low-latency MongoDB platform supporting mission-critical workloads at enterprise scale. You will bring hands-on experience with multi-terabyte to petabyte-scale clusters and architect resilient, high-performing shaded environments under heavy production load

What you'll do Lead end-to-end MongoDB performance optimization including query tuning, execution plan analysis and index design

\n
• Design and implement scalable data models optimized for high read/write throughput and low latency
\n
• Architect and operate large-scale shared clusters using range-based and hash-based stratergies
\n
• Optimize shard key selection, chunk distribution, and balancing to prevent hotspots and improve performance
\n
• Manage cross-shard query efficiency and reduce scatter-gather impact across distributed workloads
\n
• Support large production environments (hundreds of nodes, multi region-deployment) with focus on avaibality and resilience
\n
• Implement and maintain high availability, disaster recovery, and failover strategies across regions
\n
• Automate database operations, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using python and shell scripting
\n
• Partner with application teams on data modeling, query design and performance best practices
\n
• Participate in 24x7 on call support by working regional teams
\n

Experience you'll need to have 8+ years of experience as a MongoDB engineer or DBA in large-scale production environments

\n
• 8+ years of experience in MongoDB sharding, replication internals and distributed architecture design
