Automation Technician

Job TitleManages material handling automation equipment and projects for implementation in the Innovation Center involving a wide variety of equipment, machines, software, controls, and technologies.ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsMaintains equipment in the Innovation Center (Bolingbrook, IL)Facilitates and conducts tours of Innovation CenterFacilitates and conducts customer product tests on equipment in Innovation CenterProvides technical and operational information on systems in the Innovation CenterExecutes material handling equipment projects involving structures, conveyors, machinery, and controls.Collaborates with an execution and development team to implement industry leading automated systems.Delivers subsystems on time, on budget, and tested to machine rate and reliability requirementsManages project resourcesKeeps complete records of every project including a change log, action items, punch list, issues and risk monitoring logFollows Daifuku standards for documentation and software developmentProvides verbal and written updates to projects, including in-scope deliverables, project issues, and risksEnsures the Innovation Center is always presentable for toursTravels up to 20% to assist at various jobsites within North AmericaOther duties as assignedQualificationsEducation and Experience RequirementsAssociate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering (Technology), Electrical Engineering (Technology), Mechatronics, or related experience.Minimum 2 years in a mechatronics technician role, preferably in conveyor systems or material handling systems.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of material handling, warehouse management systems (WMS), fulfillment or distribution center operations, and supply chain logisticsKnowledge of automation projects involving machines, robotics, controls, and softwareKnowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC)Knowledge of business accounting and contractsMicrosoft Office and Microsoft Project skillsAbility to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced results-oriented environmentLeadership skillsSelf-motivated and detail-orientedExcellent verbal and written communication skills and listening skillsStrong organization and collaborative skillsMust be able to speak, read and understand the English languageBenefit Information:Many great benefits to include Health/Vision/Dental/401k with matchFSA/HSA Employee Assistance ProgramEOE Minorities/Women/Disabled/VeteransFederal ContractorIf you need assistance applying to an open position online, please email View email address on click.appcast.io Posting Min SalaryUSD $70,000.00Job Posting Max SalaryUSD $80,000.00
