Once fully operational, the site will produce enough lithium to support the manufacturing of approximately one million electric vehicles annually. Located in the high desert of north-central Nevada, approximately one hour northwest of Winnemucca and near the Oregon border, the project emphasizes sustainability through innovative energy and water conservation practices, including process heat recovery and extensive water recycling systems. This is an opportunity to contribute to a transformational clean energy initiative that will play a major role in the future of domestic lithium production and the U.S. transition to renewable energy. Position Summary The Senior Occupational Hygienist is an experienced professional responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in industrial hygiene and occupational health programs across project activities. This role serves as a subject matter expert, applying advanced knowledge and sound professional judgment to identify, assess, and control workplace health hazards while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, contractual, and company requirements. Working under the technical direction of the Project ESH Manager and Corporate Industrial Hygiene Manager, the Senior Occupational Hygienist supports project planning, design, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational activities by integrating industrial hygiene principles and best practices into all phases of project execution. Key Responsibilities Integrate industrial hygiene requirements into project planning, engineering, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational activities. Interpret regulatory, contractual, and company occupational health requirements and provide technical guidance to ES&H teams and project stakeholder Conduct industrial hygiene evaluations, risk assessments, exposure assessments, and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate workplace health risks Research regulatory requirements and emerging occupational health issues, preparing technical reports, assessments, and supporting documentation. Develop, implement, and maintain industrial hygiene programs, procedures, work practices, training materials, and monitoring plans in accordance with the project Safety and Health Management Plan. Provide technical support during incident investigations, emergency response activities, and the resolution of occupational health concerns. Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Commissioning, Startup, and Subcontracts teams to ensure industrial hygiene requirements are effectively incorporated into project execution. Participate in meetings with clients, project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors to communicate occupational health requirements and expectations. Perform workplace inspections, exposure monitoring, environmental sampling, and health hazard assessments to evaluate compliance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Monitor ES&H performance metrics and trends, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records within the Industrial Hygiene Records System (IHRS). Support broader ES&H initiatives and collaborate across environmental, safety, and health disciplines as needed. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to address concerns, provide technical expertise, and support project objectives. Qualifications Education and Experience Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene or a related scientific discipline such as Occupational Safety and Health, Public Health, Chemistry, Biology, Applied Science, or a closely related field, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience; or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene or a related scientific discipline, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, occupational health regulations, and ES&H management systems. Ability to research, interpret, and apply regulatory and organizational requirements. Demonstrated experience conducting industrial hygiene assessments, exposure monitoring, and workplace hazard evaluations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders. Proficiency with computer applications used for data management, reporting, analysis, and presentations. Ability to integrate environmental, safety, and health considerations into project execution and decision-making processes. Adaptability and willingness to work in outdoor field environments under varying site and weather conditions. Ability to support multiple work schedules or shifts as required by project needs. Valid driver's license. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification preferred; Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent professional certification may be considered. Must meet any applicable regulatory or licensing requirements associated with professional practice.
