Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Flight Sciences IPT Head to lead the Aerodynamics, Aero-Loads, and Flight Dynamics functions within an aircraft development program. The role will be responsible for technical delivery, cross-functional integration, aircraft performance, certification support, testing, and leadership of distributed engineering teams.







Title: Flight Sciences IPT Head
Location: Montreal, Canada

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Flight Sciences Integrated Product Team (IPT) and align activities with overall aircraft development objectives.
• Own technical delivery, schedule, cost, quality, and program milestones across Aerodynamics, Aero-Loads, and Flight Dynamics.
• Coordinate with Structures, Flight Controls, Propulsion, Avionics, and other aircraft engineering teams.
• Serve as the primary technical interface with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Lead aerodynamic design and optimization of wings, fuselage, empennage, nacelles, and other aircraft components.
• Oversee CFD simulations, wind tunnel data correlation, drag reduction, and aerodynamic performance improvement.
• Conduct aircraft performance analysis including range, climb performance, cruise efficiency, take-off, and landing performance.
• Lead high-lift system assessments and aircraft performance optimization.
• Define and generate aerodynamic loads across the aircraft flight envelope.
• Develop and analyze gust loads, maneuver loads, and ground-air loads interactions.
• Develop certification load cases, load envelopes, critical conditions, and loads reports.
• Ensure proper integration of aerodynamic loads with structural design and aircraft sizing teams.
• Lead flight dynamics modeling and simulation, including stability and control analysis and handling qualities evaluation.
• Evaluate aircraft response to disturbances, gusts, turbulence, and other dynamic conditions.
• Collaborate with Flight Controls teams on control law development and aircraft response tuning.
• Ensure integration of aerodynamics, loads, and aircraft dynamic behavior with the overall aircraft design.
• Support wind tunnel testing, ground testing, model validation, and flight test campaigns.
• Validate CFD and simulation models against physical and flight test data.
• Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, and DGCA certification requirements.
• Support applicable CS/FAR 23/25/27 certification activities.
• Develop and review certification deliverables including loads reports, stability & control reports, flight test plans, and analysis reports.
• Participate in PDR, CDR, certification reviews, and audits.
• Identify and mitigate aerodynamic, loads exceedance, stability, handling quality, and aircraft performance risks.
• Ensure aircraft performance targets for fuel efficiency, payload-range capability, and flight envelope compliance are achieved.
• Support proposals, RFQs, effort estimation, technical solutioning, and program planning.
• Lead distributed onsite/offshore engineering teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
