Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.Title & Purpose of the JobJob title: Spot WelderPay Rate: $22.90/hourAlstom Level: UndeployedFunction: Manufacturing- Car Body ShellMission Responsibilities:Efficient execution of manufacturing operations, part placement in jigs, removing subassemblies from jigs, graining/grinding, drilling, cleaning and/or passivation of finish products with appropriate tools available.Ability to perform different Special Processes such as Riveting, Bonding, Torquing by completing all necessary qualification and meeting all requirements according to ALSTOM standards.Ability to use tools such as torque/Allen wrenches, measuring tape, drill, sander (pneumatic/battery)Execute and efficiently perform self inspections, dimensional checks and tests (e.g. watertightness, shear tests) following ALSTOMs guideline and requirements.Ability to efficiently utilize work instructions and design documentation supplements like 2D drawings and 3D engineering instructions to properly execute production activitiesAbility to work in validation environment cross functionally with PME and Engineering teams to improve and execute production processesCheck reception of materials issued by the warehouse and properly store the materials received, to maintain the order, tidiness and efficiency of the workplace according to ALSTOM standards.Ability to obtain the needed certifications (crane) and qualifications (manlifts).Execute spot welding operations in accordance to the special process training and visual inspection standardsAbility to safely and efficiently operate specific spot welding and operational equipment according to training instructions and perform level 1 operator maintenance checksMust be able to read blueprints and work instructions, set-up of jigs and fixtures.Must have proficient working knowledge and ability to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools with strong mechanical aptitudeMust have ability to work in a safe manner compliant with all Alstom Zero Deviation Procedures and Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and guidelinesPerform caulking and finish sealing operations in accordance with ALSTOM standardsEffectively communicate with Supervision, Engineering Department and the Quality Department discussing design changes or material changesMust be adaptable with ability to work across multiple spot welding cells performing different spot welding operations operating all variants of equipment- accepting different work assignments - maintain a clean working environmentThe ability to Listen, Learn, comprehend and work in parallel to assist arc welding operations in sequence with spot welding activities to achieve all company and customer requirements.Assist in new process development and troubleshooting of products and processes.The ability to utilize digital technology in day-to-day work responsibilitiesAcceptable hand/eye coordination and ability to pass visual acuity testAny and all other responsibilities, in addition to those mentioned above, as assigned by supervisor/manager.QualificationsEducation: High School DiplomaExperience: 1 to 3 years mfg. environment experience, sheet metal or fabrication mfg. preferred.Technical competencies & behaviour: Automatic/hand operated burning equipment Blueprints/Work Instructions Weld symbols Hand/power tools Accurate visual acuity Hand/eye coordination Strong functional equipment mindset Adaptability Customer focus Accepts feedback and applies Ability to be trained and train others Offers feedback to leadership Cascades given feedback to other team members Fabrication and application of jigs/ Mechanical Principles and experience Ability to follow Instruction and order of operations with strong attention to detailYou don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us.
