Front of House Shift Lead

GL Restaurant & Entertainment Group is hiring an experienced full-time Front of House Shift Lead to support company restaurant locations in the Allen, Frisco, and Richardson, Texas areas.

This position is intended for a candidate with hands-on restaurant leadership experience who can direct front-of-house employees, maintain service standards, and support store management during busy shifts.

Actual Work Locations

The employee may be assigned to a company restaurant location in Allen, Frisco, or Richardson based on staffing and business needs. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be able to commute consistently to these areas. Store assignments and future changes will be communicated by management.

Schedule

• Full-time position scheduled five to six days per week.
• Regular availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays is required.
• Must be available for daytime, evening, weekend, holiday, and closing shifts.
• Daily schedules and total working hours may vary according to staffing and operational needs.
• The schedule may change when business conditions require additional coverage.

Training, Compensation, and Evaluation Period

• The position begins with a two-week paid training and evaluation period.
• Training compensation is $12.00 per hour based on actual recorded hours worked.
• Employees must accurately record all working time and required meal breaks.
• After successfully completing training and passing the company’s evaluation, the employee will begin the official Front of House Shift Lead position at an annual salary of $50,000.
• The first month in the official Shift Lead position is a probationary and performance-evaluation period.
• Completion of training or the probationary period does not automatically guarantee continued employment.
• Continued employment depends on attendance, leadership ability, job performance, reliability, and compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily front-of-house operations during assigned shifts.
• Assign employee stations, duties, breaks, and side work.
• Maintain proper staffing coverage and adjust assignments according to guest volume.
• Direct servers, hosts, bussers, cashiers, and other front-of-house employees.
• Conduct shift handovers and communicate priorities to the team.
• Support opening, closing, and cash-handling procedures.
• Ensure employees clock in, clock out, and record meal breaks accurately.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, uniform standards, and employee performance.
• Train and coach new and existing front-of-house employees.
• Follow up to ensure assigned duties are completed correctly.
• Maintain guest-service, dining-room cleanliness, table-turnover, and food-safety standards.
• Assist employees with POS, order, payment, and customer-service issues.
• Respond to customer concerns and resolve routine complaints professionally.
• Escalate significant customer, staffing, safety, or operational issues to store management.
• Coordinate with the kitchen to maintain accurate orders and timely service.
• Assist the store manager with staffing needs, employee performance issues, and daily restaurant operations.
• Remain hands-on and assist the team during busy service periods.

Qualifications

• Previous front-of-house restaurant experience is required.
• Previous shift lead, supervisory, or restaurant team-lead experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience assigning work, directing employees, and maintaining shift coverage.
• Experience training employees and following up on performance.
• Experience handling customer complaints and resolving service problems.
• Familiarity with restaurant opening and closing procedures.
• Comfortable operating POS systems and following cash-handling procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to remain calm and provide clear direction in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Reliable attendance and dependable transportation are required.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods and assist with physical restaurant duties.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Mandarin-speaking ability is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000 per year after successful completion of the two-week paid training and evaluation period.

Work Location: In person at an assigned company restaurant location in the Allen, Frisco, or Richardson area.
