We are seeking dedicated professionals to provide exceptional care in our Emergency Department (ED), which serves a diverse patient population, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on trauma and emergency care.\n Key Responsibilities:\n \n Float within service line/scope of practice as needed\n Provide care for patients presenting with various complaints, including chest pain, respiratory issues, mental health evaluations, OB/GYN emergencies, sepsis, stroke, abdominal pain, sprains/strains/fractures, trauma, and cardiac arrest\n Work in a 27-bed ED, which is a Rural Hospital and a Primary Stroke Center, seeking Trauma IV designation\n Collaborate with a dedicated team of 24/7 board-certified ED providers, charge nurses, triage nurses, and house supervisors\n Utilize two designated resuscitation rooms and four dedicated mental health preferred rooms\n \n Required Skills:\n \n Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias\n Blood product administration\n Central line care/management\n Phlebotomy and starting IVs\n Continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors\n Procedural sedation administration\n CVA, neuro-trauma, traumatic brain injury, ortho-trauma, head injury\n CPAP/BiPAP, interpretation of ABGs, and care for ventilated patients\n Experience with gunshot wounds and isolation precautions\n Triage experience\n \n Qualifications:\n \n MUST HAVE MI LICENSE IN HAND\n ACLS, BCLS, NIH, PALS, and TNCC certifications required\n Minimum of 3 years of ER nursing experience required\n Unit accepts first-time travelers; no local travelers within 50 miles\n Scrub color: Navy\n \n GLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
