Job Description

The Registered Nurse ICU plays a critical role in providing specialized care to patients in intensive care units, focusing on cardiac, medical, surgical, and telemetry cases. This role involves close patient monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians to deliver comprehensive care within a typical patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3 or more. The nurse will utilize the Epic electronic health record system to document and coordinate care effectively.

13 Week Contract with the option to extend

Hours:

Days 7 am - 730 pm

Nights: 7 pm - 730 am

Float between ICU/Tele/Med-Surg

 

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient condition and respond promptly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments accurately
• Manage ventilators and critical care equipment
• Provide emergency interventions as needed
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Perform thorough patient assessments regularly
• Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Document all patient care activities using Cerner EHR

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in critical care nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) knowledge
• Strong skills in patient assessment and medication administration
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
