Our unit is designed for high acuity patients with a dynamic team environment. General Information Number of Beds: 20 Number of Staff: 40 Type of Staff: RNs and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) Day Shift Staffing: 1 Charge RN, 5 Nurses, 3 PCTs Night Shift Staffing: 1 Charge RN, 5 Nurses, 2 PCTs Patient Ratios: 1:4 Type of Equipment: Telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, tracheostomy care, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires, IV pumps, SCD pumps Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech Qualifications Minimum Requirements: At least 1 year of current PCU experience BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Preferred Qualifications: Extensive neuro experience Additional PCU and cardiac experience Typical Procedures Performed on the Unit Chest tube placement and removal Removal of pacer wires 12-lead EKGs Medication drips including heparin, tikosyn, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, Lasix, and ketamine Ideal Candidate Profile Demonstrates strong teamwork skills Exhibits high energy and adaptability Additional Information This unit offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-acuity environment with a focus on cardiac care.
