Banking Supervisor – Oklahoma Tax Commission Salary: $75,881 Job Summary The Banking Supervisor within the Business Operations division provides leadership to the banking staff and ensures a high level of service to keep banking processes smooth. The role handles cash and payment transactions, monitors inventory, reports technical issues, and independently plans and organizes all project phases. It includes supervisory duties such as assigning work, reviewing performance, training staff, approving time off, and providing recommendations for disciplinary action. Train, mentor, and evaluate cashiers and analysts by providing guidance and performance feedback. Ensure the highest degree of banking services; assist taxpayers with payment or other banking‑related issues. Ensure daily reconciliation of banking records matches cash and payment transactions; assist staff in conducting timely research. Ensure that bank records and taxpayer accounts are properly handled and maintained in OneLink. Oversee credit card reconciliations, process chargebacks, handle disputes, and suspended payment applications. Collaborate with the State Treasurer’s office, credit card vendor, and the State’s bank to receive all payment and reversal files; elevate issues to the IT team or other staff to meet daily deadlines. Provide taxpayers with correct wire or addenda information for electronic payments to the Tax Commission. Assist taxpayers and other division personnel via phone, email, or web notices. Assess and maintain internal control procedures. Respond to internal and external audit requests. Maintain banking procedures and communicate changes to staff. Oversee processing documentation for system changes; test scenarios, prepare and update procedures. Process contracts and specifications for various inventory types. Implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in banking and cashier operations. Perform all other related duties and/or projects assigned to meet agency needs. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of general accounting principles and banking system workings. Modern office methods and procedures, including computer technology related to accounting systems. Financial statements and reports. Accounting ledgers and journals. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel. Commonly utilized accounting software and databases. Exceptional attention to detail. Solid time‑management, problem‑solving, and research skills. Strong mathematical and computer skills. Technical fluency in commonly used software and ability to acquire new technical skills quickly. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Mentor and lead staff. Analyze problems and strategize for better solutions. Display problem‑solving skills under stressful conditions and deadlines. Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing. Manage own time and work in a fast‑paced environment. Review and analyze financial information. Maintain routine accounting data in appropriate ledgers and journals. Apply accounting practices including computation, reconciliation, and other processes to complete work assignments. Prioritize, meet deadlines, and work on multiple assignments simultaneously. Work independently as well as part of a team. Develop a system of organization. Maintain confidential information. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, public administration, or a closely related field. Three (3) years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, or banking services. One (1) year of supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications Five (5) or more years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, or a closely related field. Strong banking background. Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience. Physical Demands Ability to sit and stand for extended periods; manual dexterityix, and hand‑eye coordination to operate computer, keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment; visual and hearing acuity; ability to lift up to 15 pounds; routine office environment with moderate noise. Special Requirements Work hours Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Minor flexibility may be required. Work primarily on‑site at the Oklahoma Tax Commission; occasional telework may be requested. Telework requires a secure internet connection and a dedicated telephone or smart phone device during scheduled hours.
