Key Responsibilities

• Promptly answer and direct telephone calls with courtesy.
• Warmly greet patients and communicate clearly with them and their families.
• Accurately collect and enter demographic and insurance information.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations.
• Schedule appointments following established protocols.
• Assist patients and guardians with patient portal setup and registration.
• Make confirmation calls and guide patients through necessary paperwork.
• Handle messages efficiently and update patient records as needed.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect co-payments at the time of service.
• Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and reliability under pressure.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

Preferably two years in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting. Equivalent customer service experience will be considered. Graduation from an accredited medical receptionist program or two years in healthcare is preferred.

Certifications

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Requires considerable mental focus. Physical activities include lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Work Environment

Medical office setting with occasional exposure to infectious diseases and challenging individuals. Minimal physical discomfort expected.
