Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the operation of forklift in a safe and effective manner. The operator will lift and pull items from 5,000 – 15,000 pounds. Operates motorized equipment used to move piping, vessels, engine compressors and coolers. Will drive lifts from 5,000 – 15,000 lbs. Will also lift and move 12X18 pallets with spotters to watch skid movement. Maintain accurate logs and records. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods. Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures. Work under direct supervision.

High school diploma/GED preferred. Minimum 0 – 4 years of related experience or training in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience lifting, push and pull a minimum of 5,000 pounds repeatedly. Certification required. Perform manual tasks for extended periods in unfavorable weather conditions. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field. Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices. May rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required including fluid and filter changes. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
