Litigation Counsel - General Liability Defense

Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Counsel-level litigation attorney with 8+ years of experience to join their team focused on defending a wide range of complex general liability matters. This includes, but is not limited to, New York Labor Law, premises liability, catastrophic injury, hospitality, transportation, and negligent security claims. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and highly motivated, with exceptional legal writing skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload while interacting with both domestic and international insurance clients. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of approximately 25–30 matters Take and defend depositions Attend court hearings and mediations Draft and submit pleadings, motions, and briefs Prepare client correspondence and legal memoranda Conduct complex legal research using Westlaw/Lexis Draft and respond to discovery Review and analyze documents for production Develop case strategies and investigate claims Communicate effectively with insurance carrier clients and insureds Handle all phases of litigation from responsive pleadings through trial or resolution Supervise and mentor associates and paralegals Qualifications 8+ years of litigation experience, including depositions Admitted to practice in New York Strong academic credentials Excellent legal writing and communication skills Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams Client-facing experience and ability to build trust and confidence #J-18808-Ljbffr
