Key Details Permanent position Full time (76 hours per fortnight) Morning, Afternoon and Night shift available Located at The Alfred Patient Transport Assistant Grade 1-2 (IN18-IN19) The Department Alfred Health Support Services provides non-clinical support services across Alfred Health, including cleaning services, car parking and fleet management, waste management, gardens and grounds, distribution, security and access control, ward support, linen services, ancillary services, food services and hospitality. The Role The Ancillary Assistant will operate as part of the Alfred Health non-clinical services team and take direction from the relevant ward staff and non-clinical support services coordinators/supervisors. The role involves assisting the portering service in providing and maintaining a safe, efficient and least disruptive transfer of patients and equipment within the hospital, meeting or exceeding industry best practice. The Ancillary Assistant will work closely with other Support Services team members to ensure a committed, safe and socially responsible multi-skilled team. Essential Qualifications & Experience Background or experience in waste management. Ability and adaptability to participate in change. Completion or willingness to participate in training and education appropriate to improve required skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
