Schneider Electric Systems USA, Inc. seeks a Principal Firmware Engineer in Foxboro, MA.

: Design, develop, and test firmware for Foxboro DCS Embedded Controllers and Gateways using modern protocols Profinet, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, Modbus and others with special focus on security aspects such as use of certificates for authentication. Contribute to detailed system architecture, functional and design specifications. Collaborate with offshore development team and QA test team. Eligible for remote work 2 days/wk.

Qualifications:

Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related field and 8 years of progressive, post-bachelor's experience in embedded firmware development or related occupation, which must include at least some experience with the following skills: Developing using C and C++ for embedded systems firmware in multitasking and multithreading models; Developing for Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) including Nucleus, VXworks, and Linux; Using modern protocols in development, including Secure Development, TCP/IP protocol, and IEC 62443 Cyber Security standards; Developing for a variety of systems (Distributed process control systems, Safety Systems); and Coordinating with off-shore development and geographically dispersed teams.
